Kevin was going to be gone to Phoenix for the week working the Nascar Race, so Xander and I tagged along. It's about a 5 hour drive and X-Man was a great little traveler.

The best part of our trip was getting to see The Platt family. They were our dearest friends in New Jersey. They moved to plant a church in Phoenix a few months after we moved to Nevada. It was great catching up with them! We miss them bunches.
We took the kids to play at one of the local parks and it was awesome!
Xander loves being "side", which means outside. He would stay outside all day if we could.
Kenzie wasn't as excited about the water as Xander was. Silly guy tries to lap it up like a dog.
Luckily, there are tons of splash pads by our house. X-man is a water baby for sure! I have to keep a spare outfit on hand at all times because if there is water, he will find it.
He is so stinking cute! He was very happy to see his pal Kenzie.

There was a Barnes & Noble right by our hotel, so we went and played with Thomas one rainy day.

The coolest part of the drive from Vegas to Phoenix is you see Saguaro Cactus everywhere. They are so neat looking.

We went to watch some of the prelim races at the Phoenix International Raceway. Xander was so excited. He explored the grandstands and touched the big rigs and pointed at everything that went fast.

We got to say hi to Kevin for a few minutes.

Xander would close his eyes and bury his head in my arms when the cars zoomed by.
